SEO extension for Chrome browser. Simply the best.

Thursday, March 10th, 2011

I’ve always been a bit of contrarian and, as such, have been a Firefox user for years. Not that there is anything particularly wrong with Internet Explorer, I just prefer the Firefox interface and I think they’ve worked hard to build their share against the Internet Explorer behemoth.

However, I have recently become a Chrome browser convert. I like the clean lines and the actual (and implied) simplicity of the interface.

Just this week, I discovered an awesome Chrome extension for SEO. SEO is a huge part of my online effort so I am always searching for tools to help my cause and save some time. As far as browser tooolbar SEO tools go, this is the best one I’ve come across. It shows in Chrome as a single button:

Click on the button once, and you get a small pop up window with an excellent snapshot of key SEO metrics. Looks like this:

Chrome SEO Extension pop up window

This window scrolls down so the image above shows just the top half of the information provided.

In the Google Chrome SEO Tools you'll find:
● A Keyword Research Tool
● Highlight NoFollow links
● The number of Pages Indexed
● The number of Backlinks
● Current Traffic and Rankings
● Social Bookmark counts
● Cached Versions of the page
● Domain Details like DNS, IP, Whois, Server Location
● Detects Robots.txt and Sitemap.xml

What a time saver. I love it.

Here is a link to the Chrome SEO Extension install page and if you haven’t tried Chrome as a browser, I highly recommend you give it a whirl.

Thanks for reading my blog and please visit again.
